For many years it has been our dream to purchase a home in Spain. We were unsure which region to head for and having visited Costa Blanca many years ago on a viewing trip, we decided to have another look at the area. We arranged a trip with Matt and flew into Murcia airport to meet him. Well, from the moment we met we talked non stop. We had already communicated our requirements , likes, dislikes and essentials for our new home. Over a coffee on arrival we discussed this further. Matt was a great listener and very patient as Phil and I had not totally agreed on what we wanted, which didn't help. He was not fazed by this and said he would arrange extensive viewings for the next day and would adjust the list of what we viewed based on our reactions to each property. I was keen to get started viewing but Matt insisted we spend sometime getting to know the areas on our first day. He escorted us around the coastal areas and inland within a 10 minute drive of the beach. We had regular stops to walk around and explore the local areas and by the end of the day we really felt we knew which areas we preferred and were excited for what the next day would bring. We viewed many properties, found exactly what we were looking for and instantly knew it was the one. Matt encouraged us to continue our viewings and we eventually returned to the one which we are now the proud owners of. After a previous viewing trip 10yrs ago, I anticipated high pressure selling, all new properties and fully expected not to buy in such a short visit. Well I couldn't have been more wrong!! Matt was amazing, he really understood what we wanted, I think he was as excited as us to find the right property. After a celebratory drink and dinner, we knew without a doubt that we had made the right decision. Matts personality and business expertise were the key to us feeling confident to buy. Matt assisted and drove us around to complete the necessary legalities, deposit, bank accounts and finding a solicitor. Nothing was too much trouble. The house purchase completed on-time , despite it being over the Christmas period. I continued to pester with many questions during the process and he was always available with the necessary info. Thank you Matt for helping us find our dream home and for making my dream of 30 years or more come to fruition. I know I drowned you in emails, properties and texts but at no time did you complain. Every property we sent you, you did your research, obtained keys and shown us round all the properties we wanted to see. You also shown us additional properties which you thought may suit our needs. From the minute you picked us up, to our return journey to the airport, you never left our side. Nothing was too much trouble. You gave us a great insight into the whole of the coast, driving us to places that were beautiful. Showing us what we thought were too far away, were easily accessible and all within 20 minutes of a car or bus journey. Our first day was spent entirely seeing places of interest which you willingly drove to all day to ensure no place had been left that we couldn’t get to under our own steam. The second day we viewed almost 20 properties and by the end of the day we had found our perfect house. Our third day was spent opening a bank account, a solicitors appointment and the notary. All of this, through your contacts, was seamless and everything completed in that one day. Scary but exciting at the same time. The whole of our experience from start to finish was hugely enjoyable thanks to all the hard work you had put in before our visit, during our visit and when we got home. We also managed to fit in a few drinks and lunches along the way. The aftersales service you have offered once we have completed on the purchase is also extremely helpful to us both. Offering to take us to furniture places so we can furnish our property on our first trip back to pick up our keys again makes the whole process a simple and stress free journey. We can’t wait for our next trip back to our new home in September. Thank you Matt for being the perfect choice in realising our dreams. We’d been looking for a property in Spain for around 6 months but with no joy with other agents, we came into contact with Matt who suggested we went out to Spain to get a feel for the area (this was not something we were offered from other agents). I first approached ‘Homes Overseas’ in mid 2017 enquiring about a house Villamartin. I had a very informative conversation with Jane who explained the process of buying in Spain and how they worked as a company. I decided at the time that we would wait until after Christmas to look again so we could raise some more funds, but things changed and after speaking with Jane again, booked a trip in mid November. I was met at the airport by Matt who then took me to my hotel ready for the next day. Matt picked me up in the morning and gave me a very comprehensive tour of the coast from los alcazares up to Punta Prima, showing me lots of lovely towns I never knew existed, this lasted the whole day. I can’t stress enough how much this helped in making my decision the following day, the places I thought I wanted to be turned out to be totally wrong. The following day we looked at a number of properties and up and down the coast and finally found our dream house. We completed on the 29th of December with no hassle at all, Matt drove me to Murcia to the notary, to sign forms, to furniture shops, even to the odd restaurant! Matt was so helpful and in my opinion went over and above to make our buying experience as smooth as possible. We recently bought an apartment in Los Dolses, Orihuela Costa. Having been approached by many agents after expressing interest, we chose ‘Homes Overseas’ to show us around a range of properties. We were shown many places, some good but in the wrong area for us. We spent a couple of days with Matt in November 2017, a great experience, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This enabled us to narrow our search and on our return we met up again and went out for more investigations with Chloe. Leah helped so very well with paperwork issues, and Dawn was excellent, with power of attorney (which I would recommend) she helped sort out our NIE numbers, opened our bank account and set up all our main direct debits. When we came in April to pick up the keys Dawn came with us to the bank and sorted the final details. All in all ‘Homes Overseas’ made this experience as problem free as they could. They were professional and had our interests at heart we felt. We’d like to thank Matt, Chloe, Leah and Dawn for their endeavours and we are now happily ensconced in our Spanish abode! We had an offer on our property in the UK and were so excited we booked the flights and accommodation to go and take a look around with these guys. Sadly our house sale fell through and although we were very upset Jane was so understanding and supportive with us. We agreed to go ahead and take a look and this is where we met Matt. Even though we were not in a position to go ahead he spent 2 days with us narrowing our search down until he found us the perfect are to live. He also arranged with people to show us around properties and he hit the nail on the head with the first one. Not stopping there, he booked an appointment with us to set up Spanish bank accounts and also introduced us to people who were very professional and I believe genuinely cared. We had news back home that there was a great chance ours would sell only to be let down again. Emotional roller coaster time kicked in again but once again these guys were there to support and reassure us that it will happen sooner or later. We never felt under any pressure and whilst Matt was helping answer all our queries in Spain, Jane was at the end of the phone being as supportive as ever. I could not recommend these people enough and plan to return once our house sells to do business with these fabulous people. I would like to think we also gained two friends from this experience in Matt and Jane. My advice to anyone looking to buy is just to be honest and upfront with your current circumstances, whilst these guys are lovely people they still have a living to be had and families to feed. I am from a sales background and all I asked from my clients was to be up front with me just like we have been with these guys. Having searched the internet for 18 months, we decided to visit the Murcia region to look around at different areas. When we finally found the particular are we were happy with, we then visited the local estate agents where one in particular (as seen on Ch4) even told us that we wouldn’t get anything for our budget! Somewhat dispirited, we returned home to try again on the net. We started searching again and made an online enquiry for a property that we knew in our chosen area. We then quickly had a call off the team at Homes Overseas who gave us all the info of what they do etc and how they differ from the normal estate agents. Next we arranged to go back out to Spain and were met at our hotel by Matt with a selection of properties prepared for us to view. We viewed them all but fell in love with the 3rd of these. Matt then negotiated the deal with the sellers and saved us €4,000 on the price. The rest was easy as Matt knew the job off-pat and ensured that everything was in place for us, including the lawyer, notary, NIE numbers, bank account and Power of Attorney.
